Since we don't have EMSAM here in Canada and I'm entering into my eighth year of treatment resistant depression, I'm prepared to order it online and give it a try. I need help in figuring out approximately how long I'll need to dry out from all of my current meds before starting it?

The general guideline most pdocs would follow would be a 2 week washout of ALL antidepressants, and any contraindicated OTC drugs. (Make sure you know the list). Also, I don't know how big a role the MAOI diet will play with your dosage of EMSAM, but the last week of washout should include being on the MAOI diet. Have you tried the "old school" MAOI's? What else have you tried that hasn't worked? What are your current meds? Good luck on EMSAM. Let me know how it works getting it imported and all. (not the specifics as that would violate site rules)

Are you sure you can order ENSAM on the net? I know you can order Depreny easily, but ENSAM is the transdermal patch version of Deprenyl that seems to work differently than Deprenyl. I am not aware of any place you can buy ENSAM without a doctor's prescription. Are you?
I think 2 weeks washout is plenty, unless the previous drug was prozac, in which a 4 week wait may be needed.

it seems that prozac is the longest dry-out period. 5 weeks is what my doc told me.
