Hi John,
I tried Lyrica only to make sure it is not a med for me. Just a night dose of 75mg, it dulled me the following by all means. Worst than a benzo I would say. It was like taking a high dose of Valium at night and feeling the hang over all the day.
Lyrica is supposed to be a super Neurontin, but for me it was nowhere near to neurontin. Neurontin was a clean drug for me whenever I used it. I can take Neurontin at night without feeling any residual effects on the following day. But Lyrica is quite different..

ahhh Neurontin, one of the worst drugs I've ever taken (for me)...In the mornings at work I literally couldn't stay awake unless I kept getting up and walking around. I remember trying to concentrate on holding my eyes open...weird.

That's interesting, Mishal; when I get the Trivastal perhaps I'll have to try Neurontin at night instead of Lyrica, if the cognitive disturbances you describe appear. Mental dullness/memory problems is one thing I really don't want.

hmm.. just to be sure: is 'Faith = Mishal' ?
btw.. Lyrica feels bad for most people when took in dose LOWER THAN 300mg .. at 75mg you didn't do a proper trial. I HATED my first trial and it was at 50mg.. then after a couple months a friend convinced me to take a second shot at Lyrica but at MINIMUM 300mg and for 2 or 3 days. .. well, it changed my life.

>Agreed, higher doses are the way to go when it comes to Lyrica for anxiety and depression. I went as high as 900mg for a while. The problem was edema and weight gain. And then I started stuttering and losing my train of thought. But I was calm, happy, and I slept well...

-- Same thing here, precisely: I had that weird stuttering. I was pretty funny sometimes, but I was affraid to keep that stuttering after I withdraw from Lyrica.. but it's okay now and I'm at 300+150mg day. ... at 900mg I was, too, quite (extremely) happy. It's a shame some people don't get a descent trial of it.

I am considering asking my dr. about Lyrica for fibromyalgia pain. How can I convince him that I would need a higher dose than what's normally recommended? I also have atypical depression, anxiety, and social phobia. Most of that is pretty much under control right now as I currently take Buspar, Klonopin, Ritalin, Cymbalta and 2 tablets (divided in half -so 4 times a day) of Vicodin. But I still deal with extreme fatigue and chronic pain all over. Any suggestions please?????
This is the end of the thread.
