especially experiences, please.
I've not found one single person who says it's helpful for inattention, yet I find studies like these:

http://www.realmentalhealth.com/adhd/news_adhd_guanfacine_extended_release.asp
I would be ecstatic to find something non-peripherally-activating that could improve attention even half as well as stimulants. Thanks for any thoughts or experiences.

but then I find a study like this:

Hi Saturn
I've not heard anyone say that either. I expect it would be more useful for hyperactivity, impulsivity and aggression.

So yes, it was useful in that respect, oddly enough (though for me, clonidine certainly was not). Guanfacine/Tenex's selectivity for alpha-2a receptors appears to increase wakefulness in the brain, even as it generally lowers NA levels.

Thanks psychobot5000 for sharing your experience. May I kindly ask why you only took Tenex briefely, as it seemed to make you feel focused and alert?
Peace...Saturn.

The Tenex -seemed- (could have been my imagination) to make me a little edgy, I'm afraid, as well as possibly disrupting my sleep (but that's probably because of my already-existing sleep difficulties). Overall, I just didn't like the 'feel' of it, though I did not give it time for my brain to normalize and deal with the side-effects. But for other reasons, I didn't want to complicate my life by being involved in a long medication trial just then.
I've never really heard of anyone else disliking the Tenex for reasons like that, so I'm not certain whether anyone besides myself should pay much attention to my discomfort with it - I tend to dislike minor side-effects of most medications.
Best,
PB
