Sounds like Vyvanse has been out for a little while now. Just curious as to whether anyone has any personal experiences with it.
Going back to school soon and am in the process of transferring my old medical records to my new doctor.
Any help or information would be very much appreciated.

It lasts longer, alot. Like near 12 hours. You dont get the "onset" as fast adderall. It comes more on like a hour.
Dexedrine was effective for me, i knew when exactly it was going to wear off, i usally was 3 hours.
Vyvanse lasts very long and is not as strong, and noticeable.

That's good news.
Adderall and Dexedrine whether they are XR (for the former) and Spansules (for the latter) has a very sudden cut on and cut off time.
I may bring my prescribing information on this med to my doc.
Any more personal experiences?
Thanks again!

dexedrine is the most active form in attention.
Vyvnase i have read is alot more dull, acting form because its l-lyrosine mixed with dextroamphetamine. It very complicated.
But it lasts a very long time in the body.
I have heard some people where disappointed in it.
My ADHD i didnt like and had a reverese action on me was Strattera. That was HORRIBLE! felt like i was walking on knives! anxiety!
But it will proably market good.
Are you considering it?

I am considering it.
In grade school back in the 80's, I started taking Ritalin in 4th grade. Until then, I was making F's and D's, and my grades shot up after that.
In the more recent past, I have tried Adderall first (couldn't tolerate the dry mouth), Straterra (caused too much anxiety), and Dexedrine Spansules, which ended up being perfect for me.
I'm in the process of moving and finding a new doctor. Unfortunately, I am finding out that Dexedrine is not an easily prescribed med - for a very good reason. I have done the weeks of exhaustive testing to be diagnosed for ADD a few years ago and I'd hate to go through it again.
That's the skinny on my situation. Sorry it got so long winded. Figured something less abuse-able is more easily prescribed.

I know two older adults on vyanase and they love it much longer acting than the other add or adhd meds. Sorry no personal experience. Phillipa

Been on adderall and ritalin and always hated the abrupt crash but did like how the effects kicked in quick, but i just got switched to Vyvanse and I give it a huge thumbs up!! I tolerate it better due to the smooth balance as it releases through out the day so you dont get that sudden cut off feeling. plus i noticed i only have to take my xanax 1x day instead of the usual 3xs a day!! i think its a very effective treatment for ADD/ADHD

Up until recently, I have spent the last 5 years finally perfecting my bipolar cocktail. The one thing that never went away was the drop out, fall out/fade away, can't focus anxiety ridden portion of my existence. My PCP and my psychiatrist agree that with ADD/ADHD and narcolepsy running heavily in my family that I should start treatment as I finally admitted to blanking out while driving.
So, I started at a safety level of Dexedrine and am now going to be moving to Vyvanse with a piggy back of Dexedrine - as needed.
It has made a world of difference. But I too have noticed that the Dexedrine only lasts about 4 hours, which is why my physician wants me to try the Vyvanse, utilizing the Dexedrine as a breakthrough.
Anyone else use both?
