How long does Nardil take to work?

Posted by joemzak on October 25, 2007, at 5:02:20

I have been on Nardil for 17 years. I have had to go off it 4 times for 4 different hip surgeries. 14 days before surgery, then off it for 7 days in the hospital for a total of 3 weeks off Nardil. When I got home, I started taking Nardil again at my full dosage-6 tablets per day (90 mg) and it would start working by the 4th day.
Now I have been off Nardil for 3 months and started it again 6 days ago. In the 6 days I took 30mg,45mg,60mg,75mg and on the 5th day 90 mg - my full dose. I have had no side effects but it isn't working yet. I was hoping it would work as quickly as it did before. Anyone been through something similiar. I need it to start working now, I am in so much pain. My doc gave me methylin er 10mg to help with the pain, but even that is not much help anymore.

IMO you don't need to worry about.
if your last time you'have taken nardil started to work for you just after few days it doesn't mean nardil will always be efficient just after some certain of time.

There is an unconscious circulatory(between 1 to 6 weeks depends on the person) in the brain which is 'letting' chemicals to be perceivable on your feelings. this certain point can be tomorrow and might be a few weeks from now.

All you have to do is wait... :/

Good luck. =)

I have had the same problem. The first time I took nardil 2 weeks. I also had surgery but they didn't take mr off of it, Is that inportant. Because my surgery went very wrong. Well now I am back on Nardil and it has been 3 1/2 weeks and nothing. Just try to tell a depressed person to wait

Hey Joe, did your problem ever get resolved? Did the Nardil start to work for you again?
