I am currently taking effexor and have had minimal effects on my depression and anxiety. It has certainly benefitted me a small amount but not enough to offset my sexual disfuntion which has been absolutely horrible. I have a terrific Dr. and am thinking of taking 20mg of lexapro and adding a small amount of wellbutrin xl. Anybody with experience taking these two medicines and their opinions would be greatly appreciated. Also, has anyone ever taken a higher dose of lexapro of 20mg with any success? Thank you.

Hey i used Wellbutrin and Lexapro together. For me it was the only thing that kept me happy. Unfortunately wellbutrin is only available as Zyban in australia and u can only get it like twice a year. Lucky for me my doctor recognised untreated ADD. I now take only dexamphetamine and have noticed a similar response. There is defenetely still some depression about but it has eliminated most of my anxiety. I was on 30mg of lexapro. 300mg of Zyban. I think they are both excellent drugs.
