I'm currently taking 12.5mg of Lamictil a night and using the 6mg Emsam patch. The Lamictil is making me sick. I have hot flashes, nuseau and generally feel awful.
I'm not getting the antidepressant results I need out of the 6mg. Emsam patch.
Don't know if I should go back to Klonopin and up the Emsam to 9mg. Or go with a new drug like Parnate?
I haven't had a lot of luck with mood stabilizers.

I know that EMSM is very weak relative to parnate or nardil and usually used for depresstion related problems without anxiety.
You probably will need to up the dose even more to notice any effect.
As for Lamictil? is that Lamictal?

Lamictal at 12.5mg isn't likely to be causing problems, and it certainly isn't likely to be providing any noticeable benefit. And you're on the lowest dose of EMSAM.
My advice? Titrate up, and see how it goes. I imagine your doctor has offered a titration schedule for both drugs? It's worth getting up to a therapeutic dose, to see if it will work. Wouldn't it be a shame to miss out on the benefit, because of discomfort during the adjustment phase? In my experience, ALL drugs have had varying amounts of discomfort during the adjustment phase -- and some of those drugs have worked find for me.
Good luck.

Could be you're allergic to it in some way as some can't eat dairy products. It's all trial and error. Phillipa
