I'm on 200mg of Topamax as a mood stabilizer but I've never know it to be used solely by itself without a combination for mania but I could be wrong.

I've been on it for three years and did not know it was good for mood disorders which I have, just disgnosised though, so I don't think it is used alone either. When I was on it and cymbalta I had rages and crying jags so it didn't work on that combo either at least for me. I was a zombie for a while on the two too. Whew I was glad to get off those two together. The topa did help with the brain zaps though not as bad as others had them. Check out crazymeds site there is a site for mania help but I don't think I saw topamax listed. I will check and try to get back to you. rhonda

Thx for the replies,
I would like to try topamax with depakote (divalproex acid)... which I already take but its not enough to control my mania/mixed mania...
