I visited the doctor, for reasons linked below, and she said that joint pain is more common for Lexapro than Lamictal. She said that in Lamictal it's extremely rare. My pdoc wanted to get me off of the Lexapro anyway, so I suppose that this is my sign. He wanted to try me on just Lamictal and xanax. We'll see how that works out.

Hi Bonnie..I went to rxlist and one of the mentioned side effects with Lamictal was arthralgia--joint pain.
Lexapro listed neck / shoulder pain.
Not conclusive evidence but it's something.

Well, your doctor appears to be wrong. Arthralgia was found to be associated with Lamictal in more than one short-term study, 2% incidence in one case, and in the range of 1-5% in another. Lexapro, nor Celexa (the racemate) lists arthralgia as a symptom.

So lamictal causes joint pain? Although my dose was low I didn't get it but them wasn't on lexapro either. Did you see that question from yesterday from Iforgotmypassword on ECT? And tyromine thought you might help. Sorry for hyjacking the thread. Phillipa

Yeah, that's why I thought it was weird. I couldn't find much evidence of joint pain with Lexapro, but I saw that it was listed as a possible side effect with Lamictal. My pdoc does want me off the Lexapro anyway, because he says it can induce cycling.
It'd be a bummer to get off of Lamictal, because it's working so well.

Lexapro enhances pain
absolutely
When Lexapro was working well for my head I found it a tolerable trade
however, i have been working out for years and then suddenly on the Lexapro my stretching at the gym caused me extreme unhappiness
but you can't work out and not stretch
Lexapro has to really work well with your head to make the side-effects worth whilethat said, if it would keep working well i would put up with the SE's

Lamictal 'and other mood stabilizers' have increased nerve pain in me; culminating in headaches.
I hypothesize it has something to do w/ an injury I have @ C2-3, 3-4, 5-6.
My intention only to share MY experience w/ Lamictal, as others above.
Do hope the POS doesn't get 2u like it can get to me; I'm all over that 'phantom stuff'! I usually don't like to share anything negative re: med response until I can see someone is having trouble with it. Hope okay.
