Yes. In some cases if you don't take high doses. I mean keep your dosage below 1000mg. It helps both anxiety and depression.

Weight gain? I don't know for sure. I haven't used it for more than a couple of months. Below 1g, it doesn't cause dry mouth.

And the price you will have to pay for it is low libido, apathy and sort of anhedonia. But It is much better if you can avoid benzodiazepines by using Neurontin alone. For me, benzos cause more apathy and inertia than any other medicine.

Yes, it can help with anxiety and depression. I find it to be energy zapping though.

I don't know about dry mouth. But, I've been on it for 5 years and have gained 50 pounds. That's 10 pounds per year. I'm weaning off of it to go back to Klonopin now...

I've been taking it for Bruxism and Restless Legs Syndrome. It worked mildly for both. I was up to 1,600mg before bed and finally the pdoc admitted defeat after 5 years and having to increase the dose regularly.

I was on Klonopin at 1mg at bedtime for 2 years prior to that for Bruxism and Resless Legs Syndrome and never had to increase and it worked beautifully. I also didn't gain weight. I hope I can lose some of the weight I've gained. Having the Klonopin back is nice because it works, period.
