Hello,
I just ordered emsem 5mg online yesterday.
I'm just wondering ...1. how did people get 9mg, 12mg, and even 20 mg? b/c I could only find 5mg available.
2. Is it ok if I put TWO 5mg patches on at the same time to achieve the 10 mg dose?
3. Anyhow, has anyone tried combining it w/ SAM E, deprenyl, and adrafinil?
4. How long does it take to show effectiveness ....

Are you sure this was a genuine pharmacy? I've checked and EMSAM is only manufactured in 6mg, 9mg and 12mg strengths:

__________________________________________________So if they're advertising a 5mg patch then the pharmacy, and the patch, is likely to be fraudulent. It's often hard to find new and unusual medicines like EMSAM on online pharmacies anyway. Are you sure you didn't order 5mg selegiline *tablets*?

Well, Emsam has the same stuff as Deprenyl - Selegiline - so combining them is just additive, although transdermal + oral would be complex.
However I just thought I'd add that Selegiline is only a MAO-B inhibitor at the 5mg dosage. If you're looking for MAO-A inhibition (e.g. more energy) you have to take a lot more, like more than 15mg or so, per day. I'm no professional and my mileage always seems different to everyone else's, but I take Selegiline at 10mg a day (for depression), but with addition of 500mg Moclobemide (Manerix, a selective MAO-A inhibitor, not generally available in the US), for anxiety. I *believe* this is roughly equivalent to just taking Nardil by itself.
Again, I'm no expert, but if I could only get the 5mg patches I'd put more than one on me for depression, especially since as you note, there are patches containing a lot more Selegiline.

It appears that at best you have purchased selegiline pills and at worst you've been had. I've yet to find EMSAM at one of these type sites, but they do commonly sell generic versions of selegiline pills, however there are definitely some sites where those are less expensive. I hope it turns out ok for you.

I think you'll probably get some selegiline tablets instead. I ordered drugs from websites like that for years and never once had a product not show up. They were actually pretty good about re-shipping packages that were seized by customs too. Dr. Bob doesn't permit websites like that to be posted though, so it might be an idea to notify the administrators of your mistake so they can XXXXX the link out for you.
Oral selegiline works, but the pharmacokinetics are quite different from the EMSAM patch.
