Anxiety Meds Help

Posted by johnny2 on August 15, 2007, at 20:09:32

Hello all, johnnyj (johnny2 here)

I'm off remeron, not on anything else right now, for about 5 weeks. Was doing ok but last night 3 hours sleep and chest is pounding.

I can't take ssri's or benzos. I have anxiety/ocd thoughts and am struggling greatly.

Anybody have off label stuff or mood stabilizers that have worked. Sleep is a big problem for me. Thank you.

johnnyj

Seroquel is out too. That stuff was horrible to me and caused akathisia. Ambien and lunesta out too.

Racing thoughts and worry are killing me.

They either depress me OR they cause an increase in anxiety that makes things very uncomfortable when they wash out. Even one doese will cause an almost anxiety attack after washing out of the body. I should add this is since I weaned off of tranzene about 2 years ago. Wicked stuff.

One herbal supplement (most of them never work for me) that could help take a little bit of the edge off of anxiety is Suntheanine. There are many manufacturers of it, so just pick one. My girlfriend swears by the stuff when she needs to take the edge off. It doesn't work so well for me for mild anxiety, but does work when I am going through a really tough time. It's a mild drug compared to benzos, but perhaps worth giving a shot.
