Valium, it has the longest half life and it covers you for a good 24 and even sometimes 48 hours.

valium, librium, clonazepam, and there's Tranxene T-Tab; tranxene is a pro-drug of valium, so it just takes a little bit to get turned into valium...
Phillipa has a good idea: do your benzo dosing at nite, then the next day you should be covered (though if you're still anxious you might need an additional dose or 2). This works better with valium or librium (or Limbitrol) than Klonopin or other high-potency bzd drugs.

Thanks everyone, i love my ativan - but thers jus too many tablets too take, do u think the longer the action of the med (half-life) the lower the chance of tolerance? Hope valium doesnt make me depressed tho as klonopin and xanax did!!!!

Rovers valium doesn't depress me, klonopin made me feel suicidal and I wasn't. So back then on xanax which always had mood elevation for me. Good luck. Love Phillipa

Rovers I think don't quote me that lmg of ativan is equal to l0mg of valium. Love Phillipa ps there are two conversion charts on babble you'll have to hunt for it though.

Why is it Valium and Klonopin only lasts about 5 hours for me. Ativan lasts up to 9 hours. Does it have to do with my brain, or is it my body ( liver, etc.) that metabolises it too quickly?

Sad Doggie maybe it's just the right one for you and works better for you than the others. Nothing wrong with that as you have a med that works for you. Love Phillipa

> tomNo that sounds about right, Ativan is a very potent benzo but wears off quickly. If you did switch to valium make sure it's done properly, valium for me is more sedating than ativan so you might not need as much. And valium is no where near as depressing as klonopin can be
