I thought I'd ask the people who know before I take my first dose of cymbalta. I took zoloft and had a terrible time getting off - finally used liquid titrated down to 1 mg. SO of course I went to the withdrawal page. Yeah - now I'm scared to take the first dose. Does anyone have anything positive to say about cymbalta? Thanks a bunch for your help!

Positive as I took it twice. First time to 60mg and no side effects. Then I decided to go off it and did not have withdrawal effects. I merely tappered down. I found after off it that I now had body aches and pains that cymbalta kept away. So it worked well as a mild pain reliever for me.
Love Phillipa start slow and build up should alleviate your fears.

Thank you, Phillipa. After I posted, I started to think about the things it would help and decided not to worry about withdrawal. I took one. We'll see how it goes. It's 10:33 pm, I better not be one of those people that it "wakes up" instead of being sleepy! ;-) I'm keeping my fingers crossed! God Bless! Sally
