Supposedly I'm tolerant or getting there after 35years on benzos low doses or med free years over that time. But what meds other than atypical antipsychotics work when someone has been on benzos for so long? That ahhh I'm relaxing feeling is gone. Thanks Love Phillipa

WoW, that sucks! I hope zyprexa does not do the same in 25 years.
How did it happen? Slowly uping the dose over the time? I've recently uped the zyprexa from 10-15mg, because it was like all of a sudden it does not seem as strong anymore?! Yah, ever since I stoped the abilify??? what do you suppose that means? Although I was at 20-30mg zyprexa right after stoping the abilify, now I'm only taking 15mg zyprexa. So hopfully thats a good sign.

Phillipa, have you ever tried a low dose of a tricyclic AD such as amytriptaline or doxepin? They might help you sleep well, and that could reduce your anxiety symptoms.

Gabapentin... I've never tried it, but it's got some clinical use and efficacy for anxiety. It looks like it may become a good substitute for docs who avoid benzo's. That's what some recent studies seems to indicate. Well have to wait and see.

Phillipa gapabentin is neurontin, the cousin of lyrica (pregabalin). Both are available in the US but have not been approved here for anxiety. I believe Lyrica is approved for GAD in Europe. Peace...Saturn.

Gabitril acts like a benzo and isn't addictive.
