Just a question here, but doing random searches as i often do mostly on a med im on or considering,i came across a what seemed to be a a actual chemical company.
I say this because although it seemed so,to use the site dident seem very difficult as you would think ordering from a actual chemical plant would be.
Nevertheless it came up on a parnate search, not the brand name, the chemical TRAN-PROMINE i cant spell it now.
Looking closly the names differed slightly as the med adds SULFATE at the end,i dident seem to notice this.
Point is the chemical was sold bulk in a powder, but the price was very high for what id imagine a chemical company would sell for.
I have no plans on ingesting raw chemical material, just curious if anyone has seen this or might know of this.
In theory powder would be nice not to have to use 10 mg tabs but rather create higher doses so less pills are hanging around.
Still i know this forgoes any purity procedures,or other safety measures including a docs prescription so im not mentioning the site or attempting to buy it,just curious if its a common scam to sell what appears to be a benifit for those who "stumble" onto the site,or is it just a simple ploy.
Thoughts welcome.

I've seen other drugs like modafinil (Provigil) sold as powders, but they were usually cheaper than the tablets. How much powder were they selling? You could get a lot of tablets worth of tranylcypromine out of as little as 10g. Chairman_MAO here said he bought tranylcypromine powder from the manufacturer.

Yess i spoke to him briefly on this.Well the one i found actualy would be more expensive, just have had the benifit of creating larger pills for convieance.
Second reading more i see they only sell to a university or such, this is where i believe chairman was able to get the product.I cant be sure of this either but i believed he mentioned a affilation with a university.
Im just tired of being scared of loosing a doc and being at every other ones mercy in hopes of not loosing my parnate script.
I wish i felt more confident that the chance a doc can simply refuse it and i end up not having any was not possable, but it is.

Are you afraid your current Doc will deny you Parnate? Why?
If he does you will be able to find another that will rx it. Just get an older Dr. who is used to MAO drugs.
It must work very well for you. Any bad side effects?
Peace,
kaye

1. Current docs refuses parnate,i slowly hang on to what i have.
2. Beging to look for other docs, call one after another.
3. Here usualy one of the following: He/she isnt taking new patients now.
He or she doesent accept that insurance.
4.He or she has a opening next month.
So i finaly find one, take the month.Month comes they ask me tons of questions until they hear i mostly want to start my common meds up first before anything.
Upon hearing its parnate they also refuse,as many many many here have.
I leave now with a near two months of no meds, and have at least one more to wait before i can even imagine sitting in front of a new doc with the chance of getting it.
Whew lol,in a nutshell in this small area your not seeing a doc until at least one months time, and first appts usualy dont qualify for slide in cancealtions.
Its very scary.
Mostly also because the drug, parnate is so unique there is a like substitute to use to kinda wing the down time you know.

I have a large stockpile of GSK tranylcypromine that was left over from one of my prescriptions. I once airmailed some to a guy in the US who contacted me through RemedyFind because he couldn't get hold of it and was desperate to try an MAOI - nothing else had worked and he was seriously considering suicide. Lucky co-incidence I had some, but unfortunately after a few weeks he decided Parnate didn't seem to suit him.
I get free prescriptions on the NHS and I was willing to keep on getting them filled to keep him in supply until he found a doc willing to prescribe Parnate in his own country. I'd still be wiling to do that if other people contacted me in the same situation.

ou are right, steel. I went years with no one willing to treat me with stims when they truly helped more than anything else. In frustration I self-medicated and that was a BAD idea.
I finally found a Doc not afraid to prescribe whatever med I need. I asked him about Parnate and Nardil and he has no trouble prescribing. says he has a lot of patients who took those in the past and it is all that works. He says the diet is not that hard to follow. If you are older maybe try saying you were on if in the past and it worked well with no problems.
I found my Doc by asking everyone about their Dr. I also went to some real jerks before I found him.
Send me a babble mail and I can give you his name and location.
I feel for you. Don't give up.
