I can't believe that this is happening! But I am already feeling the effects of the 2.5mg of Lexapro I took a couple hours ago and have been feeling it for like 1/2 hour now.
Before I took it I was crying and depressed and now I feel better than before. Like the cloud is lifting. Although I do have a sort of drugged feeling (but not bad as I can still think clearly and stuff).
I only hope this lasts. I have had things like this happen before and I always get my hopes up but that's me. I almost always have lots of hope and that in itself is uplifting especially when trying something new.
Also I want to mention I have Bipolar I with Mixed Episodes and Ultra-Rapid Cycling, All the Anxiety/Panic Disorders and Borderline Personality Disorder.
In addition to the Lexapro, I'm taking the following per day: 250mg Depakote, 3mg Xanax XR, 25-50mg Seroquel (for sleep) and 3mg Lunesta.
I will keep you all informed of any changes. This is exciting to me! And maybe will be to those of you who are also Bipolar or can only handle tiny doses of medications.

Honest! I know, I can't believe it either but it's seriously happening! BUT, I have had similar experiences before so I'm just enjoying the moment because in the past that's all that it usually lasted.:( BUT then again that was always on a different med, dosage, combo, etc. So maybe this time it will be "the time!"
Either way I'm just enjoying the slight elevation in mood and the fact that I already have a more positive outlook. And it's always great to not be so upset that I'm by myself here at home and crying about that and everything else. So I'm seizing the moment and rejoicing! :)
Thanks for your reply. I am going to say another prayer for you as you HAVE to be the most supportive person on the site. I mean you always have something nice to say or respond even if only to let someone know they're being heard. You're a true asset to this site and to the world. You are so lucky. When I first started, it took two weeks and a good dose of DARK CHOCOLATE to get the Lexapro to kick in. Contratulations.

I dunno... I know today is only my 1st day on 2.5mg of Lexapro but I'm telling you, I haven't felt this GREAT in SO VERY LONG!!!
I have actually done more housework in this day alone than I have in about a year. Literally. And tonight I'm making dinner. Something I haven't done since Mid-November.
The "Whoa" feeling I had is gone and my mind is more clear than it's been in I don't know how long! I am totally on it today in everything I do! My concentration is like it used to be.
I am serious. I believe a miracle has happened! LOL But really! I have literally done a 180 today. I'm not sure if the Lexapro is the cause but I can tell you I sure felt SO MUCH BETTER after taking it and still do!
I WANT TO LIVE! And I mean really LIVE! No more sitting around feeling bad. I feel such strength emotionally, mentally, physically and spiritually it's unreal. It's AWESOME!

You need to be carefull. Such a rapid responce may be setting you up for rapid cycling.

I agree with Link. Did you tell your p-doc about this switch? Please do some research about taking AD's with Bipolar I.

Yes I have switched. I feel awful today. So weird, scared, unreal, just NOT ME!
No more Antidepressants for me. I think I'm going off my meds. I'm sick of this. I'm no better on them than off. Seriously.
Thanks all for your input and yes you were right about it inducing the rapid cycling. Hey at least I had almost 1 full good day. I'm happy to say that.
