Good morning all, I just joined and wanted to share my experience so far with the Emsam patch. Its my fourth day on the patch and I'm feeling a little tired. The patch seems to help with my moods and is giving me more energy than I had before I started it. I was on Zoloft 50mg and have been trying to get off of it for 2 years now but the withdrawal was a nightmare. Since being on the patch I have not experienced any SSRI withdrawal as I had before. This gives me hope that Emsam is going to work. I have also noticed I am more focused and able to finish tasks. My sleep has improved, meaning I am at least reaching REM stage
which I was not doing on Zoloft. One thing I have noticed is that the patch does not stay on very well while working outside in the heat. Sweat makes it fall off or wrinkle in places. This may not be a problem after the Zoloft is totally out of my system. I have not had any bad side effects yet, a little dry mouth, and a few muscle aches but the aches are easing off. My attitude seems to be improving and my mood is leveling off. This is my first time on a MAOI, I was concerned at first but now I'm OK with it.I just wish I had tried this class of medication a long time ago. Seems to be doing a good job so far. I'll keep you posted as the weeks go on because I know its still early.

I had trouble with the patch coming off to until I started putting it on my rear. I also use the hair dryer on warm for a few seconds and it sticks great this way!
I noticed that when you get heat applied to a new patch when you pull it off there is glue melted around the edges and it is hard to get off.

This is my 8th day on Emsam 6mg and I feel pretty good. I woke up looking forward to the day ahead. I have been sleeping pretty good 6-8 hrs and having dreams. My emotions seem to be coming back slowly but they are improving. This is also 9th day off of Zoloft, what a nightmare that was. The withdrawal's lasted about 6 days, the last 4 I took 2.5mg Zyprexa
to help me through it. Today it's like someone flipped a switch in my brain and I feel good. Only side effect is a little dry mouth and I can deal with that.
