Eleven years of abject misery. Meds make me either sick or suicidal yet I can't survive without them. Once tried to quit and ended up in emergency after going ten days (no exaggeration) without a wink of sleep. Phobia of not sleeping...so bad that I have to take benzos just to lie down on the couch. Headache, neckache, backache, and the list goes on and on. The worst part is that there is no hope of recovery...just more meds and more suffering. AD's make me jump out of my skin and benzos give me sh#* sleep. Ap's make me feel like I've been poisoned. Who the f### ever invented this hell on Earth?

I know what you mean Guy. I wonder if
morphine or an opiate would not infact
be a better antidepressant.Squiggles

I have phobia, panic disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, and in all likelihood, personality disorder. In other words, I'm totally messed up. Just wondering how an organism can self-destruct like this. I look at the birds, the deer, and the trees...all in perfect harmony with nature. Why are humans so different? Thanks for being there to support me.

Guy,
You know animals can be mentally ill too -- we
just don't communicate with them; but you've
seen rabid dogs for example, and i'm sure animals
get depression and die of grief sometimes. It's all in the hardware, i fear. Evolution did not include animal happiness as part of the design-- just a big, organic photocopy machine.

Guy, I do not know your history or diagnoses, of course. If I am not mistaken.... those horrible feelings (and yes they are horrific) to me at least point to a need for a good mood stabilizer as a basis. It sounds like you may be going through some kind of bipolar spectrum crap and need to skip the AD's the AP's ( at least for now) . BP disorder is no longer one or two or three different distinctive colors. It does sound like you are having a paradoxical reaction to the benzos( obviously not one would hope or expect to have or happen) yes it sucks....but it is survivable and it should be attacked at once by a hopeful and insightful psychopharmacologist/ psych Dr. Playing merry go round with meds when depressed/ suicidal/ sleep deprived etc. is obviously not the key. That is my 3 cents for now. hope you can find some serious releif and do not be afraid to seek out other " expert" opinions. Good luck
