Hi everyone
I know you know what I am going through.
None of the anti-depressants that I have used help, except to make me sleepy and fat which depresses me more. I have put on 50 extra pounds, I am a mess, depressed and can't get my life togetherI have been self-medicating myself and the only thing that helps me is stimulants. I feel normal and confident and energetic, not high when I take them.
My current pdoc (new-I just moved here)is making me feel worse and keeps suggesting old meds that I have already tried and that don't work. And it takes weeks to switch medications.
I need to find a new pdoc who will listen to me and prescribe a stimulant and not think that I am a drug addict.
I have a list of pdocs in my area. Do I just call them and ask the receptionist if he is open to prescribing stimulants?
I am so tired of being depressed and trying to make it through the day. I can hardly face work and the world.
How do I find a doctor who will help me?
Any suggestions?

Yes I would do that as when I moved here was on benzos for 30 years and knew I needed to continue them so called docs on the phone and asked. You may have to have an initial visit . Do you have any records the new pdoc can send for from your old one if he was prescribing stimulants? Love Phillipa ps a lot are using providgil.

Hi I've been suffering depression and anxiety for 43 years and have recently found relief with Nardil. It has however made me put on weight and killed my sex drive and the ride was a bit rough with sleepiness to get me to where I am now, but it's worth it to be shot of depression. I wondered if you'd tried it. It truly is an old drug. Beware though, the new drugs are not necessarily better, just less dangerous in overdose, hence their attraction to doctors
Yes a lot of people are using Provigil (Modafinil) which keeps you alert without conventional stimulation. I can't afford it here and don't need it now. I sleep for 7 hours each night. It's a bit shallow, but I'm always ready to get up at 6. If I sleep longer than that I can feel a bit worse

I dont know if a shrink would rx these for someone using them recreationally. I know you're not an addict, but still....
Do you have ADHD? Sometimes it co-exists with depression. Maybe you need a shrink who will treat your ADHD. I think when you go you might *not* want to mention any non-medical stimulant use.Good luck.

Have you tried Wellbutrin? It is kind of like a stimulant. Shouldn't cause weight gain.

Don't know what you mean. I've never taken stimulants
