Reducing lamictal dose

Posted by fires on June 6, 2007, at 13:03:55

I'm reducing my Lamictal dose from 300 mg (150mg x2 /day). I've been at 250mg for about a week. I feel extremely tired and lethargic. It's somewhat difficult to keep my eyes open at times, but I can't fall asleep.

Is this normal? I see my pdoc tomorrow, and want a "second opinion" before I get my pdocs.

I've had the same thing. I'm on 200 mg of Lamictal, and at night I might be tired but I simply can't sleep. I have to sleep for 12 hours to get the rest I need. The only way I've been able to sleep anywhere close to normally is to take .5 mg of Ativan. Such is life I suppose. Lamictal has been working so well for my mood that I have a hard time wanting to get off of it.

Must be the dose as I had no problem getting off 50mg just stopped and no tiredness. Must be dose related. Love Phillipa

Bonnie - how long before it started working for you and at what dosage? How quickly did you increase your dosage? What is your diagnoses?
Thanks!
