My back is out and I am going to have to see a dr. I'm having trouble moving around.
I have had skelaxin before-a mild muscle relaxer. Is this ok? Are pain meds a no-no with EMSAM?
Thanks!
Kaye

Acetaminophen, ibuprofen and naproxen can be taken with Emsam. I very much doubt the interaction with Skelaxin has been studied, I would not recommend taking it. For a start, there is virtually no evidence that Skelaxin actually works. Secondly, it might cause unexpected side effects when taken with Emsam.

I think carisoprodol (soma) is okay-- I was taking it when I started on Emsam and asked my pdoc about it.
I'd be sure to ask about Skelaxin, because I some muscle-relaxants aren't good with MAOIs. Flexeril, for example, is not okay.
