Hi all. I am interested in hearing from others who have had more success taking 37.5mg of Effexor XR twice a day rather than the usual prescribed 75mg once a day.
I seem to tolerate this medication (any basically all others) MUCH better when taken in smaller doses and more than once a day. I don't seem to have side effects when I do this, but I'm wondering if it's still as effective?
So I would like to hear from anyone who takes Effexor XR 37.5 mg twice a day rather than once. Even if you take a different dosage 2x/day. I would like to know if this way of dosing works better for you as well.
Thanks in advance and I hope to hear from some of you soon as I have googled this site and read everything I could find somewhat related to this topic and still have not had my question answered. I hope to hear from someone soon!

I like to take one dose in the morning because it would keep me up at night if I took it later, but you should take it however it works best for you, especially if you get less side effects by doing it 2x a day.

Personally, I took my 225mg dose in the morning, all at once.
The XR formulation is eXtended Release, so it's made to be taken all at once and then released over the course of several hours. That said, CynthiaGreene is right -- it it works better for you to take it several times per day, go for it. There's nothing wrong with it, that I know of.

What dose range of effexor is good for anxiety and which ranges are good for depression. I told my neighbor I would try and find out for her. She had so much energy with her lex and xanax and it turned on her and now just starting at 37.5mg she says she has more energy. Love and thanks Phillipa
