Zoloft and Klonopin for anxiety

Posted by Big Popper on March 23, 2007, at 14:44:16

I am giving and update and asking for advice once again.

I stopped Lexapro and started Zoloft at 25mg for a week the uped to 50mg. Felt way better, almost normal. Morning anxiety disappeared and could go a day or 2 with no Klonopin. Then slight anxiety came back over the next few weeks. Started needing .5mg of Klonopin to get me through the day.

I went to Dr. he said to up to 100mg. of Zoloft. I did that 2 weeks ago, now anxiety seems a little worse. Had to take 1mg Klonopin yesterday and woke with morning anxiety this morning??!!

I am able to function fairly well, much better than Lexapro. Lexapro made my anxiety MUCH worse. What should/can I do or try??

I can take klonopin every day and feel just fine, but I thought the Zoloft was for anxiety. I have been taking klonopin for 6 months now since started AD's for the first time. Used as much as 3 mg. day while on Lexapro, now .5 - 1 mg day.

I am not sure if the Zoloft is causing anxiety, or I am addicted to Benzo, or just not taking the right AD.

I never tried Zoloft. But I have been one klonopin before. When I tried to reduce the dose, without another benzo to replace it while reducing the mgs, I had very bad anxiety.

I Hope your anxiety subsides.
