Provigil works great for my fatigue, but it's so f*cking expensive!!
I was wondering if anyone has any experience with the generic version made by Sun Pharma.
Does it work as well as the brand name stuff?
-Thanks

I use Modalert and it might be slightly less potent but it is less expensive to buy a 90 day supply from India than it is to pay my copay on my insurance (assuming I could win the fight to get them to cover it). It is not a huge difference in my estimation though.

Hi Phillipa Modafinil has been around a while as a smart drug. Pro-vigil seems such a good name. I've stopped Effexor and am in a state - crying, nightmares, panic etc, but I'm to go on Nardil soon. In case N turns out too sedating I have Provigil in mind, but my doc said it was very expensive, so it's out with my credit card and buying over the internet. I don't know what a racemic drug is but it's one of them. They say they have no side effects apart from good ones and aren't addictive. In the past I've bought and tried Adrafinil and piracetam, but they didn't do much love fred

Not in the US. However you can order a generic version online through canadian pharmacies for about $1.50 a pill as opposed to the insane $7-8/pill for the non-generic version.

I think its hard to get from canada b/c the FDA has scheduled modafanil as a schedule IV med and its hard to legally get those in from canadian pharmacies. There are online indian pharmacies and other places that sell various indian generics. I don't know what to tell you in terms of going for the indian generics or what...personally, I would.
www.drugbuyers.com might be able to help you find a site that sells medication you need at a price you can afford.

i found indian provigil was a smaller pill, and perhaps %75 less potent, yet approximately %500 more affordable.
yet it is a "controlled substance" and so import is variable.
it makes no sense to me as a schedule IV, as it's not much different than caffeine, except longer acting, and less acidic.
i figure its the patent on particle size, that's keeping this from eventually becoming an over the counter option.
This is the end of the thread.
