I've heard 4 hrs., and i've heard 6 hrs., i know it's not very long , but i would like to know what it is.
Also, if i take my last dose (20 mgs.) at 11:00 a.m., approx. what percent of the medicine would be in my body at 10:00 p.m.

> -MonteWiki says 4.4-8 hours. The monograph says it's eliminated in 24 hours, which would infer a half-life of about 5 hours. Assuming you're typical (which may not be the case), you'd have approximately 1/4 (range of 95% confidence interval roughly 0.18-0.40) of that morning's dose still circulating at 10 p.m.
However, the functional half-life of an irreversible inhibitor of MAO is not the same as its serum half-life. It takes longer for your body to replace the damaged enzyme molecules than it does to damage them with this drug in the first place. Therefore, you rather quickly develop a dynamic balance that is somewhat independent of serum half-life.
One variable that doesn't fit into this puzzle is the possibility that Parnate does more to the body than just inhibit MAO. Therefore, you may still notice peaks and troughs, despite the generalized inhibition of MAO.
