How long have you been taking it? What dose? Any positive effects on depression or anxiety? Michael

Just started last week at 30 MG. I know the typical starting dose is 45 MG, but I've had extreme reactions to two different drugs in the past, so my doc wants to be very cautious with Nardil.
No effects so far, but that's to be expected on such a low dose.
I'll keep you and everyone else here updated on any results.

Football, please, please, please walk me through your Nardil trial over the next several weeks. I will likely follow, switching fromm Emsam.
Have you felt anything yet from Nardil? Are you taking it for anxiety and depression or both?
Do you mind shooting me an email at sportscarvell@yahoo.com
Im pulling for you unlike you'll never know, Michael

I'm taking it for moderate depression after going through the entire class of SSRIs, generalized anxiety, and social anxiety.
I've felt nothing yet, but no side-effects either, so that's a definite plus. I'm seeing my doc on Monday and hopefully he'll up me to 60 MG
Also, last week I was prescribed .5 MG Klonopin twice a day, which seems to help with anxiety but it's too low a dose to make that much a difference, so I'm hoping my doc will up that as well.
On top of that, I'm gonna ask for some Provigil, because I also have a great deal of fatigue daily, and don't wanna risk mixing an amphetamine with Nardil.

Hi football,
I took 15 mg twice a day many years ago and that was my routine dosage, so a lower dose can always work for some of us. Just record all the signs and symptoms you have so you know at what dose you felt what effects. Its easy to do this now if you need to recall later what dose worked best or worse.Believe me you'll never remember this stuff later.
And I still look back at my journals of 20 years for past references.Stargazer

You can try using Periactin (cyproheptadine) to counteract the sexual side effects. Wellbutrin is another option. Most people say the sexual side effects diminish after several months.

I'll second the suggestion of Wellbutrin. It was like an aphrodisiac for me. My DH is using it to quit smoking and he got an instant hardon lol. I miss it but my PDOC won't prescribe it for me. She has noted my past drug abuse and binge drinking and doesn't trust me with that at this point as I guess it can be a dangerous mix.

I'm a little hesitant to give advice - but give the Nardil some time - easy on the Clonazepam - 1mg. a day is not that low of a dose. From experience it is hell to get off, and the Nardil might be enough for anxiety. If you can make it without regular benzo use I believe you will ultimately be better off. Sexual side effects of Nardil were a drag and never subsided within a year - I quit because of it, but the rest of my life was so much better. Trying, but having difficulty getting a script for Nardil now - I want to take it again. Richard

I've just stopped Effexor and about to start Nardil but my Dr doesn't know the washout period. 10 days he opted for. I understand Nardil has GABA effects too, which might obviate the benzos. I hope so in my case
