Hello.
I'm a 25 year old male with life-long generalized social anxiety, ADHD (inattentive), and severe depression. I have been on and off psychotropic medications since age 14, starting with Paxil.
I recently obtained Amisulpride from an online pharmacy. Today was my first day on the drug. I took 50 mgs and noticed only very mild sedation at first. I intend to try it for at least a month. If it proves unhelpful I intend to try an MAOI. My problem however is that I do not know how to go about finding a doctor willing to prescribe anything but conventional drugs like the SSRI's and Effexor. Further, I live in Kansas, which I think is a big part of the problem.
Anyone have any recommendations for finding psychiatrists willing to try less orthodox approaches (such as the MAOIs) for treatment-resistant mental illness? I'm willing to travel if need be.
Also, what experiences have others had with Amisulpride in the treatment of Social Anxiety?

I used amisulpride for social anxiety at 50mg. It was very effective right away, I noticed a mild euphoria. I seemed to develop tolerance to the effects after a two months, so maybe cycles of amisulpride and another drug would be better than taking it continuously?

What part of Kansas and or Kansas City Metro area are you from. There are some very progresssive Pdocs in this region. Let me know and I'll see If I can help!
