Every now and then I get this really strong but pleasureable smell. It almost smells sweet. Something tells me that this smell is not in the environment. I only seem to have this smell when I am in a good mood.
Is there such thing as a mood congruent pleasurable phantom smell?

Yep, I get them all the time! Can't really describe them well but they are very strange. They seem to depend on my moods - there's one 'dark purple' smell I've been getting on and off since I was a kid when something exciting is about to happen. It smells a bit like that women's perfume from the 80's, 'Poison' I think. I tend to get bad smells when I'm irritable and depressed. I also hear phantom noises with my 'mental ears' from time to time. I think it has something to do with being on the autistic spectrum , maybe a synesthesia of some kind?
I suppose you could go so far as to call it Schizophrenia if you were so inclined if it weren't for the fact I'm aware they are figments of my imagination. Do you get this often?

Sometimes it is when I eat chocolate. A few times it has occured on some form of psychostimulant. (used legally)
The reason I don't beleive I am smelling something real is kind of complex. It has to do with my mood at the time. It usually occurs with a mood that is slighly askew. Sometimes a larger than life type of feel. It is very distinct. Like a flower or something sweet.

I lost my sense of smell and taste heard two things one it was due to depression the other it's an autoimmune disease which I have some of. Love Phillipa

I had a strange taste on Parnate, but that might be directly from the chemicals of course. I've had it since though when I've been in a similar state of mind. Interesting.........

How's it going Link? Did you sort something out with school (if you don't mind me asking, of course).
I'm struggling abit to keep up with everything to be honest. Oh well. I'm doing the best I can! Well thats what I keep telling myself anyway. I suppose thats all we can hope for.
I feel better there's abit more light now.
I've never had any pleasureable phantom sells through. They sound rather nice!

I have a one week break from school. In Canada it is called "reading week" I have to make sure I do some reading cause I am really behind.

Thats nice. We had 'reading weeks' at my old university in Scotland, although we only ever had one, sometime in November. We're supposed to have a week off here, its called 'skiing week' but I still have some classes (I think).
I tend to procrastinate alot. Its hard studying when you can't concentrate.

They introduced reading week here because apparently there were a lot of people commiting suicide this time of year.
I think its dirt pathetic that people have to kill themselves for the school to cut people a little slack.
