I worry that Klonopin which seems to calm most people down and relax them does nothing for me.
Why am I having to take such a potent drug (Zyprexa) just to feel rationale again?
Thanks...Denise

Are you using it monotherapy?I notice klonopin is most effective when added to a combo that is helping to some form of degree. Here it takes the edge off.
However if a combo is not working at all,or not being used, and klonopin is added,id imagine the escaltion of your klonopin dose has already exceeded its WOULD BE VALUE and prob continue to do more harm than good.
Again my opinion only,best wishes.

Willyee,
Yes I tried it on its own a couple of times and it didn't seem to do much, not like Zyprexa does anyway.
I hear of people who find Klonopin really helpful so can't help wonder why it does nothing for me.

Well, I was at work the other day and I have this constant need just to get out of the building, I feel really on edge, like, how am I going to get through the day, I've got to get out of here, I've got to get out of here. I feel really exhausted physically and yet unable to sit still. Very sort of pacey feelings. Then when I do get out of the building, I want to go back again. It's like I just don't know what to do with myself. I've tried deep breathing, excersise etc but it doesn't do anything.
I've experienced all of this before in the past but it's only since coming off the Seroxat mid last year that things seem to have got really bad again.

I've also got no appetite lately and am not sleeping well at all. When my depression started back in 2001, I used to lie there in the morning, dreading the day ahead and wishing there was a guillitine that would just come down and chop my head off.
All of that is coming back again now.
Denise.

Denise, I, too, take Zyprexa for anxiety as clonazepam doesn't seem to do much. Currently on 5 mg and not too worried. Whatever works! The big issue for me is sleep and Zyprexa really helps me with that. Many people discontinue Zyprexa because of weight gain. I manage to keep my weight under control by going for 2-3 long walks every day. Anyway, just want to let you know that you're not alone.

could you try both? Antipsychotics are often called tranquilizers, and for good reason. Maybe try a small amount of zyprexa+klonopin? If nothing else, you'd get a great night's sleep.

Thanks Guy, are you taking anything else along with the Zyprexa?

A small dose of Zyprexa doesn't seem to do much either. For some reason it has to be 10mg.
But thanks for suggesting it anyway.

Benzos don't help everyone by any means. It's stange how often people on this site imply that they do.

Denise,
I am taking 5 mg Zyprexa and nothing else. I recently received a message from another babbler saying he has taken Z for more than 9 years with no problem. A lot of people do complain about weight gain, though. The worst side effects for me are constipation and loss of libido. I'm willing to settle for this trade-off...anything but unrelenting anxiety and insomnia!
This is the end of the thread.
