My PCP gave me an Rx for Elavil (generic) for fibromyalgia quite some time ago. A couple days ago I had the Rx filled and was told by the pharmacist that it interacts w/Synthroid. i.e., Synthroid increases the impact of Elavil. I'm very concerned. It's for 25 mgs - the doc said they use 300 mgs for depression. I'm worried about it leaving me a zombie and causing terrible headaches - other drugs, like Flexeril have done that even at 2.5 mgs. I was thinking about cutting it into quarters but still not comfortable with it. There must be better meds out there for fibromyalgia. I break out in hives easily - have severe asthma.
Does it have any affect on the heart or blood pressure? I've also read it can cause weight gain and I'm already way overweight@

I've heard cymbalta can also help fibromyalgia. Love Phillipa
