Anyone have different responses to the slow release Lithium versus the regular version?
In the past I took the slow release and now I am taking the immediate release.. the immediate release seems to be working faster and better, but this could be due to many other factors. So I was just wondering if anyone had any toughts on the issue. Thanks

Well.......
I've not taken lithium personally.....but slow-release lithium is said to be more likely to cause diarrhea, whereas regular lithium is more likely to cause nausea. I doubt this is of any relevance to your personal situation however.

In general, lithium is not the sort of drug which you should feel 'coming on' and 'wearing off'. Lithium is usually dosed so that the blood level remains relatively constant throughout the day. Although lithium can start to 'kick in' fairly quickly, some of its effects build up over several weeks of daily use.

Hi JB
I have been taking controlled release formula for about 20 years. I currently take one called Priadel which is supplied by the NHS. Originally I took Camcolit which was instant release but when I changed over to Lentolith I cannot recall any noticeable change. For my money I don't think there is any discernible difference.
