Hi again...I would like to see who else besides Laima, RN320, liliths are on this and what doses responses, add-ons are being used.
I have just been increased from 6 mg to 9 mg.
First question...can the patches be split...I have 90-6 mg patches that cannot be returned. Fought to get them, now can't use them or return them. They're all in individual packaging so no tampering is possible yet mail order pharmacy will not accept back, what a waste of $$$$, 90 patches are probably worth $1200.
Can I use a patch and a half to equal 9 mg? Has anyone has been told this can be done? Has anyone done it?
I had a bad response when I took Adderall-XR 20 mg with the 6 mg patch, it was too much, it made my depression much worse, so be careful with that.
How are the Provigil/Emsam users doing?
Any other combos worth mentioning with EMSAM?
Is it really helping anyone?

I have been taking Emsam for 19 days for anxiety and depression. No doubt, it gives me a little boost of energy, which I am not so sure is good for my anxiety. However, I have been feeling better in recent days.
You know, I asked the pdoc the same question: Because of cost, could I get the 12mg and just cut them in half for 6mg? He said no, and I can't remember exactly why, something about cutting it in half wouldn't give it the true 6mg effect.
If I were you, and you didn't feel 6mg was enough, I would simply put on two of the 6mg patches. Yes that would give you a 12mg effect. If you wanted less, perhaps you could wear one 6mg patch all day, and then the other 6mg patch for 5-6 hours. This is just a theory. Consult your doctor before you do anything (disclaimer).

Hey I read you other post way up at the top. I know you are frustrated about all the medicinal mixtures and I completely the understand. This is just a vicious cycle. My only advice is this: Find a pdoc that you really have faith in. It make take a while to find one you feel about that way. When you do, you'll need to do your best to trust pdoc's opinion and give whatever concoction ample time to work (4-6 weeks usually). If it doesn't work, then on to the next mixture. Perhaps you are already doing this, I dont know. But finding a pdoc you believe in and then following the pdoc's instructions verbatim are half the battle, in my opinion. Have gone from 6mg. to 9mg. to now 12mg. patch (for two days). Not much help. Tried Provigil for one week with 9mg. patch--made depression worse--memory worse, concentration worse, confused, disoriented, felt dead inside. Currently also going off Lamictal, 100 mg. as it really did not do much for depression. Going of Neurontin, 900 mg. per day as well. May be trying a different treatment in a month.

My pdoc said that she has patients who cut the patch and there is no problem. In fact, if I try EMSAM again, I will cut the 6 mg patch into four. I didn't do this the first time and it was WAY too much for me.
