I've been battling this for 12 years. Even when I was non-depressed on prozac+zyprexa, I had no pleasure in life. No zest. No desires. No interest. But not depressed. Weird.
I believe they call it reward deficiency syndrome, which is a subset of depression or ADHD or schizophrenia. So much overlap. In any case, the general consensus in literature seems to point to the dopamine/norepinephrine circuits as being faulty in some way. And with some people maybe the opioid circuits. From all the complaints about emotional numbing from ssris, I think serotonin is the least likely to help with the symptoms.

It may not come just in a pill but rather actually making goals to do things that you formerly enjoyed, even if they don't seem particularly interesting at first. Stimulant (or stimulating) medications might help, but the real thing is gradual acclimatization to things.
