Amisulpride was good to me 10 years ago, added to prozac. Incredible sexual side effects got me off it.
I started it 2 weeks ago at 25mg. A beautiful complete lifting of depression, anxiety, and fatigue happened the first day. Unbelievable. The next day, nothing. Following days, I had some motivation to do laundry, but other than that I felt like crap and felt fatigued. Sometimes I felt like crying and did, while other times I felt like crying and couldn't. Very strange ebbs and flows too. Woke feeling half decent, but then a few hours later got real gloomy and dark. Lots of unusually deep fatigue. Not sedation or somnolence, just utter fatigue. I expected sexual side effects and was surprised at enhanced libido. Ability to orgasm was greatly reduced which reminded me of ssri's. Strange for a dopamine drug.
Went to 50mg for 2 days. A bit more motivation. But also significantly more prone to sadness and crying spells. Also got severe leg cramps and pains. Hard to walk. And the antipsychotic jerking and twitching stuff showed up. I was on the back porch in the dark having a smoke and realized I was absolutely terrified of the shadows. I wonder if that is close to what paranoia or psychosis is like? It was scary.
All in all, a very very strange 2 weeks. The idea of giving it another 4 weeks for a real test is out of the question.
Someone on the Alternative Board said they use amisulpride for 2 days at a time and then stop for a week, because the good effects only last 2 days, and then it is just somnolence and huge side effects. They've been using it and experimenting with it for 2 years at various doses. I kind of agree. Amisulpride might be good for that once in a while amazing boost. For longterm, my hopes have been shattered.

Thanks for posting this blueberry. I was thinking of asking my GP for some more amisulpride but I don't think I'll bother as it will narrow my options for the future, maybe Nardil would be a better choice? Anyway, I think I had a similar experience in that the beneficial effects only lasted a short while each time I tried it since I've never taken it longer than two months.
