I been taking it for about 4 days along with my 10mg paxil that i been taking for years.
paxil has helped by extremely severe clinical depression and it has also helped with a long time social anxiety problem.
but merely feeling livable is not good enough for me and I want to feel better. I want to have motivation and actual interests and hobbies.
So I started taking Wellbutrin SR lowest dose and on the first day my heart was beating very fast and I seemed to have some anxiety and vision appeared darker.
Now 4 days in I am noticing I am less emotional. I smile less. I feel more dull and less creative. I can't hold thoughts as well as I used to. I used to fantasize about things when I went to bed but my mind is blocked or something. I can't think of much of anything. I'm like a zombie.
Is this normal? Does this so called anti-depressant just SUPRESS emotions? Is that how it works? Because that is Not what I want.
I want interests, I want to be more social, I want to feel emotions and I can only hope that if I keep taking this med that it will help in the weeks to come because I feel worse these early days than I did before when I wasn't on it.
Any advice on this med? Any people here who took it before?
Any class of meds I should look into that can make me more social, emotional, and motivated?

I tried Wellbutrin for just a few days. While it jacked me up with physical energy, it also made me a zombie emotionally. I was already lacking in motivation and pleasure, and Wellbutrin seemed to make that a lot worse right from the start. Very quickly I became zombiefied, withdrawn, and what little motivation I had was completely wiped out. This was the opposite of what I expected. Anyway, I ditched it pretty fast. I do not know if it would have worked differently given more time. I did not have the strength or endurance to get through it.

I forgot to mention...when I tried wellbutrin I was on prozac. Also tried it again for a couple days on lexapro. Same thing each time.
I am wondering if maybe wellbutrin works better or differently when it is all by itself rather than combined with a ssri? Also, at remedyfind.com there are people who say they felt worse before they felt better and that they had to stick it out in the beginning for a few weeks.
???

It has taken me a couple of months to go from 150mg to 300mg as it made me feel scared. I use it with Xanax. Now I would say it's working pretty well, with negligible side effects. Certainly no sexual ones. Here in NZ it's marketed for giving up smoking. I seem to have given up pipe-smoking. That's a side effect I suppose. Pity I enjoyed my pipe. It's also XL rather than SL

yes that is what i am hoping. if i stick with it i hope i feel better in the coming weeks.
on day 1 i was ready to give up on it because it made me feel worse.
the best i have felt has been on paxil + ritalin and paxil + adrafinil and paxil + vivarint.
ritalin seemed to lose it's effect though, same with dexedrine...
i wish there were other meds that worked like these do. they were the best for motivation and emotion. i called up friends i had not spoken to in years when i started ritalin. It was AMAZING to say the least. I wish it lasted

the only ssri's i have taken (long list of total) that have not flattened my emotions are paxil and lexapro/celexa
but i am a bit wired and zigzag emotionally
so that aspect of those meds i have found a way to cope with

Is a zombie an automaton that has no feelings? If so isn't it going over the top to say such and such a drug turns one into zombie? Wouldn't it help to be more accurate? Examples would be nice like "My Mum died and I found it hard to cry". Incidentally Depression will do this for you very nicely, unaided by drugs
