If you have a seizure induced by meds, e.g. high dose of Wellbutrin when stopping a benzo, the risk for a second seizure in future increases. Is it the same with ECT? If you have ECT, are you more likely to have a seizure when taking for e.g. Wellbutrin? ECT induces seizure after all.

Even if seizures were a guaranteed thing instead of a risk from ECT, I think that pales in comparison to the other risks.
If you think about it, anything that is so violent to the brain that it requires barbituates and muscle paralyzers to stop the body from seizures, that can't be a good thing. ECT was a nightmare experience for me. Wish I had never done it. My memory is so shot I don't even know how I got as far as ECT or who my doctor was that got me there. Am I at more risk of seizures? Dunno.

I'm not completely answering your question, but I just wanted to add... for me, ECT's induced brain seizures brought me out of the depths of misery. I have tried most of the available meds, and the only seizures I have had are the ones that are intentional from ECT while under anesthesia.

Hi Tensor
ECT frequently has an anticonvulsant effect. Throughout a course of ECT, the brain becomes progressively more resistant to the induction of seizures.....and more electricity is required.
