I was just hoping Scott you could share your Nardil experience. How long you've been on it, what dose, what side effects, how it has helped if at all. ???
I have a couple things I want to try first, but I must admit Nardil is inching its way up closer to the top of my list, where in previous years it wasn't on the list at all. So I am curious to hear all Nardil stories.

Nardil gave me only side effects. It was terrible. I know some people tolerate it - I had a traumatic experience with it.

Hi Blueberry.
> I was just hoping Scott you could share your Nardil experience. How long you've been on it,
I began taking it about 2 months ago. I have been on 75mg for only 9 days. I had been on 60mg for 3 weeks previously.

The most problematic side effect is hypotension. I can get pretty dizzy, especially upon standing up (orthostatic). I experience some delayed micturition. My sex-drive has been reduced, which I believe is a negative sign for an eventual antidepressant response.

Unfortunately, I am not as responsive to Nardil as I once was. It seems that my initial positive response has plateaued and faded quite a bit. I was hoping that it would "stick" better in combination with nortriptyline. Since it has only been a week at 75mg, and there is still the possibility that I might raise the dosage one more time to 90mg, there is still room for hope. If this regime turns out to be inadequate, I might consider trying tianeptine.
Blueberry, I think Nardil and Parnate are too effective to neglect. Orthostatic hypotension and insomnia are problematic startup side effects, but can usually be managed. I wish Nardil produced insomnia in me. It is usually a good sign.

My response to Nardil continues to fade. I thought I really had something there.
Orthostatic hypotension continues to be a problem. I am having great difficulty in initiating urination (micturition). I have some bethanechol in case it gets to be impossible. Last night came pretty close.
I am no longer optimistic, but I am not yet convinced that this stuff won't work.

Maybe you are responding to the problems you encountered re. acquiring the med. Is that possible?
I hope it works for you. Keep us updated.

Scott,
i got that urinary retention dealy from parnate and found a trick that seemed to help. try sipping some water just before hitting the head. dunno if it relaxes a muscle or what, but works. curious if it helps others.
total pain in the butt when in line at a bar.
