Nardil + Risperidone to obviate Xanax use???

Posted by ace on December 21, 2006, at 18:31:32

Hello one and all!!!!!!!!

Ace has been in retreat....doing lots of study, even though i am technically on holidays!!!!!!

Basically my studies require a very very good memory.

Xanax, has been shown to cause memory deficits.

Don't get me wrong, I am a huge Xanax fan, and benzo's.

If I was in a field where I didn't need to use my memory so much I would happily be on 4-8mg for life!

My plane is to use .5-1mg Risperidone in conjunction with my lovely Nardil up at 105mg.

Can you guys.gals see any prospect of the Risperidone having anxiolytic effects on the par of a benzo???

Ace!

Nardil- 75mg
Xanax 1mg
Seroquel- 25mg

Ace, are you saying Nardil no longer has any anxiolytic effect of its own?

I was thinking about that myself after being forced to quit benzos. I read reports of people using Risperidone for anxiety but many people seem to find it makes them feel spaced out and zombie-like. Probably much worse than Xanax if that were to happen. There are a few good reports here at RemedyFind for people using it for social anxiety.

Ultimately I decided against it because of my bad reaction to other APs, but I'd be interested to hear how it works for you if you do decide to try it.

No no. Definately still helps social phobia like 99% relief! Also general anxiety. It has helped a lot with all kinds, but I am one extremely anxious dude!
Also, Nardil provides an overall dedative effect.

I just don't like APs except for serious situations. Could risperdal work for anxiety like a benzo? Probably. But it wouldn't be as clean as xanax. The APs are so complicated in terms of messing with multiple receptor sites and messing with bodily metabolic and hormonal stuff. Side effects are more harsh and varied than xanax. Xanax is so much cleaner and straight forward.

I'm not sure if sex is important to you, but risperdal is not friendly to one's sex life.
