Appetite suppression?

Posted by TrishP on December 5, 2006, at 10:45:44

Ok - I'm going to stick it out on Abilify. My doc added Cogentin to help with the inner shakiness.

BUT - Abiify makes me really, really hungry.

Instead of stuffing my face and packing on the pounds. Is there any way of suppressing this crazy appetite I have inherited from the Abilify?

I don't was to get even fatter than I already am!

Trish,

I've been reading your posts here for a while and was wondering if you've ever tried Parnate.

It is the only medication that hasn't activated my bladder problems, has not made me really irritable, and has caused weight loss - all at the same time.

I'm finding that I'm always hungry since being on Abilify. I'm with you in that I don't need any more weight. I'm just going to have to get used to being hungry or something...

Provigil has helped me a bit with appetite and weight gain associated with Nardil. I also have had good luck with 600 mcg of chromium picolinate, which helps regulate low blood sugar, something I think might trigger hunger?
