Hi Everyone,
I take Naltrexone, 100mg/day, to control alcohol cravings. Like a lot of people I noticed that it seems to augment my AD too (Cymbalta 90 mg/day). IT works GREAT for the alcohol cravings and I like the AD augmentation , but...I'm having problems with rapid heartbeat, light-headedness (almost fainting sometimes when I stand up) and I'm always sleeping and tired. Anyone else on Naltrexone experiencing this? I know my dose is a little high, most folks start at 50mg/day. But when I complained about still getting bad cravings once in a while, my pdoc had no problem doubling the dose.
Tomorrow I call him and report all these symptoms. I was just wondering in the meantime if anyone else using Naltrexone has run into this sort of thing before.
Thanks,
Reggie BoStar

In reply to Naltrexone, etc?, posted by Reggie BoStar on November 22, 2006, at 0:32:07
I took naltrexone 25mg for about a month along with ongoing prozac 20mg several years ago. I remember it made me feel kind of relaxed and socially comfortable, but other than that it didn't do much else for me except block the buzz I had hoped to get from a glass of wine. I probably should have gone up to 50mg and stayed there longer. Side effects of nausea were intense at first, but after a week or so there were no side effects at all.
This is the end of the thread.
