Forgot if I took Paroxetine

Posted by fca on November 13, 2006, at 11:22:09

this AM--was preoccupied and simply can not remember if I took my 40MG dose--Curious what you would recommend--risk not taking it or double dosing--I am inclined to take 20 later this PM and deal with the consequences one way or the other--I know that the conventional wisdom is that it is important to take Paxil everyday and preferable at the same time--Advice appreciated--I have been on it for 4-5 months and it is working extremely well

Buy yourself one of them cheap plastic pill boxes with a compartment for each day of the week. You load it up on Sunday evening and then you can forget about it and just take the pills for whatever day it is. If you can't remember if you have taken your pills you just look in the box and see if they are still there or not. They are really cheap, under £2 or $3.

The manufacturers always recommend to skip a missed dose and take next dose as usual. 40mg is somewhere in the middle of the dosing range, so personally I would take 20mg later. But you risk nothing by skipping it either, but you should not take 40mg as this could be double dosing and you could get sick.
And as ronaldo said, get a plastic pill box, i have one too :-)
