I have been treated with many different medications for bipolar disorder in the past. Current regimen is 90 mg of Cymbalta morning, 60 mg strattera (just started yesterday) and 2 mg of ativan. I have extreme anxiety disorder and 2 mg of ativan has not increased over the last 3 years....sometimes I take 1/3 of a 15 mg tablet of zyprexa to help if its extreme. I was taking provigil with initial wonderful results but it stopped working. Has anyone tried strattera a mood lifter to wake up out of the fog from antidepressents? Thanks

Are you sure you're bipolar? The meds don't hit me right. But I'm not a med expert. Love phillipa

I've also been diagnosed with social anxiety disorder and usually can't leave my "safe" zone without meds....I have had long periods of "up" time followed by extreme depression. I also take neurontin at nite and 300 mg of seroquel at nite. The zyprexa is taken in full dose when I really feel out of wack and usually end up sleeping and waking up feeling much better. What does it sound like to you? I know that some of the meds are also used for other dx's. thanks

No, but I had a pretty good experience trying it for depression... The situation I was in at the time was such a nightmare, though, that it's hard to separate out what was the drug, and what was the situation. It's a drug, though, that is on my short list of "yeah, I'd try that one again..."
In my case, I was started on about three separate drugs at the same time, which means I can't tell you what was causing the problems I was having. The only thing I know for sure was related to the Strattera were menstrual changes. (I'm guessing that won't be an issue for you?) Otherwise, it did seem to brighten my mood.
Hope that helps, and if you do try it, be sure to let us know how it goes.

I am b/p and am currently taking strattera, personally I like it. It took a while to get used to, at first I was sleepy all the time but it eventually balanced out. Early on it did trigger some depressed moods although they weren't too bad for me. overall the pluses have outweighed the minuses.

Thank all of you so much for your responses. Its nice to know there are other people out there with some of the same issues. Please let me know if anyone is using provigil. As I stated before I was taking it but it stopped working. I had it increased to 450 mg a day and it seems to be working again. Does anyone take this? and this much of a dose? does it seem to continue to work for you? I'm hesitant to take this much, but it does seem to be working wonders again. Thanks!!
