I had been on low-dose (.25 twice a day) risperdal in the past and it seemed to help me but I started gaining weight in the stomach, you know the pregnant look.
Does anyone know how much weight gain .5 mg rispedal a day puts on over time? Does it level out or keeep gaining the whole time you're taking it?
Has anyone taken it with adderall and found that the adderall canceled out the risperdal weight gain? Also, would adderall and risperdal be too much dopamine since risperdal works on DA2? Anyone know of any other anti-psychotics (for mood stabilization) that would work as well as risperdal but not cause as much weight gain?

dopamine. risperdal will dampen some adderall effects.

You can combine stimulants with neuroleptics...the risperdal will dampen some adderall effects, but the overall effect is pretty unpredictable.
Abilify generally doesn't cause weight gain; Geodon is relatively weight neutral, too.

Thanks med I didn't know that. But is it because abilify is activating? So no seroquel it puts on the pounds? Even at low doses? Love Phillipa
