I was on Parnate for nine months last year, when it was still made by GlaxoSmithKlein. I'm going back on it, but I was wondering if anyone has found it less effective or experienced more side effects when it was made generic a few months ago? And if you still want the name-brand version, is it readily available? Will insurance companies cover it? I know that many people have had complaints about Nardil.

personally,
i cant say if the glaxco or goldshield are different.
they taste a bit different. who makes the generic here stateside? i'm still confused how many versions we're talking about. i think goldshiel is australian...it seems the glaxco has more enteric coating because i can taste the horrible sour flavor more readily with goldshield, but since parnate has a complex affect on MAO and cytokinase, i cant say if the enteric coating makes a difference.
i could mark the differences up to placebo effect.
though perhaps i sense a faster hit with the goldshield.i also wonder about mixing with food.... cant work out what that does. anyone?
