UGH! So I have tapered myself on to Zoloft. I know it's still early, only been like two weeks, but last night I took the full 100 mg dose and no Celexa, and I had feelings that were similar to when I was on Prozac. I'm already fearing that it's going to be another Prozac for me. And thus, if this doesn't work out, I have exhausted the SSRIs.
What will my doctor do next? I have GAD with panic. I am just wondering. I'm gonna keep taking the zoloft for now, maybe it will work better when I'm acclimated, but I'm just not that confident after getting that familier nasty feeling. I hate it when things don't work right, because then I have to take Xanax with some regularity. And, to boot, I've got some serious stress right now that should be resolved temporarily after Wednesday next week.
So yeah, what do you guys think my next option is?

I still believe the benzos work the best but that's me. So have you thought about seroquel? I guess you could try cymbalta or effexor or remeron or one of those. By the way have you tried the generic luvox it doesn't have the anxiety side effects for me. It's the most sedating SSRI. Love Phillipa try not to panic.

The benzos are good, but I don't want to be dependent on them, since they're really not good for babies (when I start having kids). I have tried Effexor and it made me sick. I didn't try luvox because it's similar to prozac, and prozac was bad for me. I didnt try lexapro either for the same reason. If cymbalta is in the same class but not the same drug as effexor, I could always try that. Hopefully the way this Zoloft is making me feel is temporary. I am trying to make it until January so I can see a real pdoc and not this guy that I'm stuck with because of my HMO.

No prozac is activating luvox is the most sedating of the SSRI's. I understand with the baby about the benzos. Love Phillipa

You'll have to wait a few weeks to see the potential of zoloft. I have been in your sitation(or am..), i was forced, more or less, to choose the benzo path.
This is a lame suggestion but have you tried buspar? I found some relief from clomipramine(Anafranil), have you tried TCA's?

Yeah, I'm trying not to jump to conclusions too early. Last night wasn't as bad as the night before, so maybe it'll work.

> This is a lame suggestion but have you tried buspar? I found some relief from clomipramine(Anafranil), have you tried TCA's?I haven't tried TCAs, I figure that might be a possibilities. I had BuSpar before, but I had it by itself, and by itself it does nothing at all. It made me sleepy and in some ways more anxious. BuSpar might work okay with something. I haven't had Anafranil, what is that? I guess I can google it.
Thanks for your suggestions!
