I take Anafranil 75mg per day, Ludiomil 75 mg per day, xanax xr 12mg per day (due severe anxiety) and trazodone to sleep, but it seems that 50mg it is not enough.
What dosage do you recommand me? Less mg or more mg?Regards. lukeds

I would probably not go over 125-150, where you start to get an "adult" dose of what it actually was intended for in the 70s apparently, which was to slam your depression at a brick wall and make you sleep all day apparently and of course provide various serotonin modulation (mild humor value.) It is not habit forming but the dose can escalate (dose A doesnt work any more so dose A+B will have to be done, etc.) to a point where you will have to back down/vacation from that 125-150 and go back to say 75-100mg.
The larger the dose, also, probably the greater the chance of priapism, which, if I am guessing you are a male, is not a good thing, especially an older male I only theorize -- and it happens more than the black type says, believe me. You can always solve that by standing on your head, no kidding... (I hear raucous laughter in the background...)-- tidings

Thank you Jay, I will up the dosage to 150mg, and when I finally achieve sleep, a few days or a week after I will reduce the dosage slowly.

maybe you should talk to your prescribing physician, or at very least a pharmacist before changing the way you take your meds.

Best dosage is whatever works for you, without nasty interactions and side effects. For years, I slept on 50mg Trazodone, but when panic attacks began (unmasked by another med I started), I needed up to 150mg.
Anything that raises serotonin or norepi messes with my sleep and exacerbates anxiety. I need to walk a very fine line to relieve anxiety and get sleep so that insomnia doesn't worsen my anxiety/panic attacks.
Have you discussed adding Lyrica at bedtime for sleep? Combined with trazodone, I had a great sleep study profile and it took a bit of the edge off my anxiety.
Good luck.
