hi, hope everyone is well....just bin doin some readin up on NMDA antagonists and iv heard that amantadine as well as having pro-dopamergenic effects is also an NMDA antagonist??
has anyone had any experience with this drug and can anyone tell me how strong its affinity for the NMDA receptors is (compared to say memantine-which i am trying soon!!) does it have any effect on the other neurotransmitters??

From what I've seen in the archives, people have generally not had a good response to amantadine, and its NMDA affinity is lower than memantine's. From what I've read on this site, anyway.

I didn't find it effective, but it was amazing the way it improved my sex life after a couple of weeks. It conteracted the deadening from the meds (Valproate at the time). 5 years of anorgasmia or so-what big deal from these crummy meds, then I was back to normal. It was fun again.

Yeah, unfortunatly the Nardil wrecks the whole thing and the doc wont give me any because of the dopamine factor. Time to get off that crap. It isn't working anyway.
