have you tried anything else? antipsychotics are kind of hardcore, especially for a relatively mild mood disorder.
lower-end dosgaes of depakote might be useful, for instance.

I believe seroquel is the most prescribed antipsychotic for off label uses. It is considered one of the safer APs, has efficacy at low doses and its side effects are minimal (compared to other APs) at the lower dosage used for off label TX. Be patient, it does takes time to work. Best of Luck

hi pixie,
I take 50 mg of seroquel in the evening. it helps me sleep, and it helps keep me a little more stable during the day.At that dose, it's not really an "anti-psychotic" but rather a "mood stabilizer". Has some mild anti-depressant and anti-anxiety effects.
Doses in the range of hundreds of mg of seroquel are more typical for acute psychosis or maintenence. These high doses are often very sedating, but interestingly, some people report that they feel more sedation at low doses than high doses.
What is your dose? How are you feeling? Do you see a doctor for psychopharmacology, also therapy?
hope you are doing peachy,
-Li

Anyone know why my fact puckered up and my lips badly peeled one week off only a three day trial of seroquel. Is this a freaky side effect or something? Love Phillipa

I started Seroquel 9/21. I am bi-polar. Today my mood felt unstable. Sometimes I felt depressed, unusual for me, sometimes I felt a bit manic, also on an hourly basis. I am on 100 mg at the moment but I may change that to 50 mg.
