Does anyone know of any antidepressants that DO NOT cause bladder problems.
I have bladder retention, pain, urgency, etc. with all SSRIs. I recently tried Lexapro for a month and loved it for my anxiety and depression, but now I am back in SSRI Bladder Pain, so I have stopped it.

Bladder pain from SSRI's? I know I don't have to go as much but attributed this to getting older. Love Phillipa

There are adjunctive medications you can take (anticholinergics) such as Ditropan XL for bladder issues, but I can understand that it is not a comfortable feeling. You may have to take a different class of antidepresants, such as the TCAs which tend to have anticholinergic effects to begin with, or Effexor/Cymbalta.

Is there anything you could take to counteract the bladder problems, while continuing the meds?
I'm sure you've thought about that, but I was just wondering if you'd explored it recently, in case there are new drugs?

I would go to a urologist. I have had the same problem, and it turned out to be urethral stenosis. I had to have my bladder dilated, which wasn't as bad as it sounds. This was a year ago. Now when I have the symptoms you described, it is usually a urinary tract infection, which I am prone to.
Maybe this isn't the route you want to go....just my 2 cents.
